How the classes run

Ask anything. Shoot a lot.

Every class follows the same rhythm: explain, demonstrate, photograph, review. Groups are capped at eight, so there is time for every question and feedback on your own photographs.

You learn from a working landscape, aerial and fine art photographer who teaches the way she learned: on location, with the camera in your hands, in real light.

Who teaches the classes?
Dani Watson, an award-winning Australian landscape and aerial photographer with a Master of Arts in Photography from RMIT University, AIPP and RPS membership, and Hasselblad Masters Finalist recognition. Guest photographers join selected sessions.
I'm a complete beginner. Where should I start?
Start with the Beginner Photography Course: 2 hours at State Library Victoria, $130, on the second Saturday of each month at 10am. It takes your camera off auto and covers aperture, shutter speed, ISO and focus.
Can I learn with my phone instead of a camera?
Yes. The Smartphone Photography Course is 2 hours in Melbourne's laneways, $130, on the second Saturday of each month at 1:30pm. No camera needed.
How much do the classes cost?
Group classes are $130 to $149 per person for 2 to 3 hours, with no more than eight people. Private lessons are $165 for one hour or $150 per hour for two hours or more. The Bring-a-Friend lesson is $390 for two people for 2 hours.
